In the beginning...

After seven years as the Head of the Music Department at a local school in South Africa, I decided it was time for a change. Armed with a wealth of musical experience, I handed in my resignation, eager for a new adventure.

And then...

I found myself in the vibrant city of Dubai in 2020. Embracing the fast-paced lifestyle, I seized the opportunity to embark on an entrepreneurial journey. Stellar Strings, my very own guitar teaching business, was born. This chapter allowed me the freedom to work on my terms, setting my rates and creating a work schedule that felt balanced.

My breakthrough...

As my business flourished, a desire to reach a wider audience began to stir within me. In 2022, I took a leap into the digital world, starting my YouTube channel, 'The Stellar Guitarist.' This platform became an exciting avenue to share my expertise and connect with aspiring guitarists worldwide on a weekly basis.

Becoming the Stellar Guitarist...

The year 2023 marked a milestone with the launch of The Stellar Academy, my one-stop beginner guitar course. Designed with the beginner guitarist in mind, the program aims to guide learners through a step-by-step roadmap to finally have fun and play the guitar with confidence. The Stellar Academy has not only empowered countless individuals to create music but also fostered a nurturing community of Stellar Guitarists, all coming together to celebrate a shared passion of making music!

What I Believe...

Growing up, I was lucky enough to always be surrounded by music. My dad (a passionate music-lover and drummer) made sure that my sister and I were fully immersed in music culture. From a very young age, I was always coming up with my own songs, playing guitar with my friends at school and pushing myself to become a better guitarist.

My journey led me to pursue a degree in music and education. I have always felt that I have a passion for music and a heart for people. The most natural thing for me was to become a teacher, so that I could help others reach their potential and to shower my students with encouragement, love and kindness.
